Ingersoll-Rand BAW040060S Pneumatic Balancer, BA Series, Capacity at 100 PSI (lbs): 400, Reeved Set-Up Ingersoll Rand "BA" series balancers have no pendant controls and are used for single load suspending applications either at a fixed height or where both hands are used to manually raise, lower and position or "Float" a load. The operator experiences virtually no part weight or resistance in manipulating the load. The "BA" controller is a self-relieving regulator that automatically adds or exhausts air to raise or lower (float) the load to the desired height where it will remain suspended. The regulator can also be adjusted to slowly raise a load up and out of an operators way. The primary application for the "BA" series balancer is for suspending and/or positioning constant weight items. Product Features: Includes the Z-Stop: Z Stop is a patented device that will eliminate the down-drift of suspended loads or tools during shut down or at night when the air supply is shut off. The Z Stop will stop drift within 6 inches (152.4 mm) and put the Balance Air into a mechanically locked position preventing damage to tools or objects below the suspended load. Servo Assist: Standard Z-Servo control (BA balancers over 200 lb (90.7 kg)) amplifies the inputs and reduces the effort required to lift the load Safety: If the air supply is ever interrupted, the unit will maintain the load in the suspended position Standard emergency cable retract brake: If the load is accidentally lost, a spring loaded centrifugal brake automatically stops the rapid upward cable travel Standard overload protection: The load being lifted can never exceed the unit’s maximum rated capacity at a given air pressure Cable travel: Length of wire rope up to 30 ft (9.1 m) with cable travel up to 120 inches (3048 mm) depending on model and configuration
